George Bush :: State of the Union

I find myself, despite my revulsion at the lies and denials that spill off of the televisions across the country right now, out of the mouth of our good president, George Bush, finding the diamonds in the rough…

“America is Addicted to Oil”

This is like an abusive parent admitting that they’ve been wrong. It’s like a murderer apologizing to the family.

I remember well that George Bush said that 30,000 civilians had died in Iraq. That’s another such admission.

Do we forgive him and his regime? Do we forgive someone who has supported the killing of well over 100,000 civilians in Iraq, just because he admits that “America is Addicted to Oil…”?

What genuinely scares me the most is that President George Bush believes that he is doing God’s work. He believes that he is making the world a better place. He believes that the new court justices will be fair.

I believe that President Bush believes that he is doing good.

What scares me is to think about the people whispering in his ear.
