“Now that many bombs have come, and many shots have filled the air… Look at all these bodies, dead and scattered everywhere…” Jeshua has the strength to sing about those things that I can barely think about, and only process in pretty words and peace songs. Jeshua’s words are like a horse tearing loose, blind to nothing, crashing through everything in its path. But somehow that wildness finds its course through the undergrowth, and so too do Jeshua’s images find their mark…

And then, somewhere, in with all of the intensity, there is the kind and compassionate son of a preacher, lover and friend. “I am not a master of love, but I know that I’m in love with you…”

Jeshua really hasn’t read all the books, or seen all the world, though if you ask him, he’s been some odd places and read some peculiar books, yet somehow, he gets it. He sees the suffering ones and the downtrodden, and the prisoners, and he sends up his shout for them. And yet he stays in his midwest dirty shack of faith love and compassion.

I truly admire Jeshua for his musicianship, his kindness, and his brutal honesty. You need to check out his new album, Swords into Plowshares. You can find more information at Jeshua’s website, http://www.jeshuaerickson.com
